More than 92% of every dollar received by ElderHomes goes directly to our program’s beneficiaries.
Every dollar we receive is transformed into $22.61 of community benefit through additional home equity value and social cost savings. |
ElderHomes Corporation is a not-for-profit community development
corporation. Our mission is to improve the housing and living conditions of elderly, disabled,
and low-income persons in Richmond, Colonial Heights and Hopewell, and the counties
of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, and Powhatan.
We were founded in 1992 by the Central Virginia Area Agency on Aging (now
Senior Connections) to focus on the housing needs of seniors.
Since then we have expanded our mission to help non-seniors who are low-income
or have a disability. Today, our mission statement is to improve the living
conditions of low-income older adults, and persons living with a disability
in Planning District 15. Still, our clients are taxpayers or homeowners.
